Troxell walks off Phillipsburg baseball in H/W/S quarters

Zac Troxell scored the Phillipsburg baseball team a big victory Saturday, hitting a two-run walkoff single in the bottom of the seventh to complete a 10-9 comeback win over Hunterdon Central in the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex quarterfinals.

The No. 3 Stateliners will play No. 7 High Point, a 4-1 winner over No. 2 Voorhees, in next Saturday's semifinals.

Troxell's game-winner scored Frank Stettner and Alex Lahey, who had driven in the first run of the frame with another single.

No. 9 batter Jack Stagaard led the offense with three hits, two runs and an RBI while Lahey, Garrett DuPont and Sean Morro added two hits apiece. Mike D'Alessandro picked up the win in relief, pitching one and two-thirds scoreless innings.
